History

The Vidyalaya marked its beginning with a meagre strength of 30 students at 13th Avenue Harrington Road, on 20th October 1968. The Vidyalaya has progressed remarkably and the primary section Occupies a well designed block at No. 17th , Harrington Road. The High School building located on a 20 ground plot at No 9B, Taylors Road, houses classes IV to XII. The school as grown tremendously over the years and has now got a strength of 2137 students and 95 teachers. The entire building in three floors with well ventilated class rooms, equipped laboratories, full fledged computer rooms and an advanced library with a modern audio visual room provides a conducive ambience for teaching, learning process. The NCC, RSP, Scouts and Guides, clubs like Inter Act, Karuna and Eco are active to provide the students with valuable learning experience, outside the class rooms.



THE VIDYALAYA

Chinmaya Vidyalayas have been started under the auspices of the Central Chinmaya Mission Trust, Bombay, It is now managed by a Management Committee, the members of which are drawn from the Trustees of Chennai Chinmaya Seva Trust and from the members of the Chinmaya Mission Chennai. Swami Tejomayanandaji the Spiritual head of Chinmaya Mission world wide is our Patron.
