Happy to announce that our vidyalaya was short listed for the third place in Tiruvallur District for the
pledge taking ceremony on Nov 14, 2019 to receive the excellence award from Hon’ble Chief Minister of
Tamil Nadu for our contribution towards promoting the vision of plastic pollution free Tamilnadu. The

Tanuj of class III has been placed in the Indian Book of Records for his achievement in fastest
recitation of 1 to 100 multiplication tables. Tanuj had been a consistent recipient of various awards

Saveetha College of Literal Arts and Sciences conducted an online essay competition in March, 2021 on
the topic: ‘Covid 19: Transformation in Learning – A Student’s Perspective.’ Many of our children

Prajan of class IV got the first prize in the Gita Chanting competition which was conducted by

competition conducted by Lotus Social Welfare Charitable trust on 22.08.2020.

KARATE COMPETITION

held on 05.09.2020 and won the consolation prize and also won the Guinness World Records for performing
dance online conducted by AMN Fine Arts.

MARATHON
Shahroz maazhi of class I and Aynul Ashadiya.R of class V participated in a marathon organised by Takkar
studio of sports TS3 athletics and both of them secured the second place.
S.Swetha of std IX took part in the quiz competition on 8.10.2020 and bagged the second prize which was
conducted by Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC SHAR), ISRO, Department of Space, Government of India,
organized a spree of competitions under the title: 'World Space Week - 2020' and also participated in
the IIT Madras - Shaastra Juniors Competition 2020 under the title ‘Brain Squeeze’ on 25.10.2020 and was
placed fourth.

Our Events
CHINMAYAM ALĀP
Chinmayam Alap is an initiative started in the year 2019 with a noble vision to provide the
opportunity for students of neighbourhood schools to hone their special skills through
inter-school competition. The competition serves as a platform to identify talents and showcase
potential. The participants are enthused to groom the skills that an ideal student ought to have
and many more too! Chinmayam Alap for 2020-an interschool online exposition was held on 12th
February 2021. The event commenced with an invocation followed by lighting of the kuthuvilaku.
Principal Smt. Latha Ganesan gave the welcome address and declared open the second edition of
the Chinmayam Alap.
Students presented the Power point presentation on the topic Knowledge Traditions and Practices
of India – (KTPI). Participants were given a choice of five topics under KTPI as given
below:
Arthashastra – Economics
Rasayana – Chemical Sciences
Ayurveda – Biological Sciences
PrakritiVidya – Ecological and Environmental Science
VastuVidya – Architecture
The participants were thoroughly thrilled to revisit the past and study the glorious knowledge
tradition of our ancient culture. The event witnessed participation from 18 schools (2 students
per team) and each presentation gave an insight in to the traditional practices of our country.
The guests of honour and the judges of the competition were Smt.Gayathri M. & Sri. Sajeevkumar
S., KTPI Educators, CIRS, Coimbatore.
The Judges shared their feedback and threw light on the topic from their expertise with the
words of wisdom. The curtains for the event were drawn down with the announcement of the results
followed by the formal vote of thanks.
PONGAL CELEBRATION
Pongal festival, the harvest festival of South India, dedicated to Sun God was celebrated with
special events performed by children of std. VIII. The celebrations began with an invocation,
which was followed by a variety programme. The festival was celebrated with true spirit and
festival fervour.
REPUBLIC DAY
26th January, 1950 is a ‘dream-come-true-day’ of the Indian history. This day every year is
celebrated all over the nation as Republic Day. The day on which the governing document of India
turned the nation into a newly formed republic. Our Vidyalaya observed this day with all due
observances.
The celebration started with the invocation. The Principal welcomed the viewers, unfurled the
tricolour and shared the day’s message. Children came up, bubbling with patriotism and
enthusiasm, with a dance, a Tamil speech on, ‘Why do we celebrate the Republic Day?’, an English
speech on ‘Four Pillars of Democracy’ and the most interesting aspect – a photo album on
children dressed as National Leaders. It was thrilling to see the children instilled with
patriotism and moral values.
NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY
National Science Day is celebrated every year on 28th February. This day commemorates the
colossal achievement/contribution of Sir C.V.Raman – the Raman effect, which throws light upon
the behaviour of light.
This year, National Science Day was celebrated in our Vidyalaya on 2.3.2021. Dr.A.Subrahmanyam,
Retd, Professor, IIT Madras was the guest of the day.
The celebration comprised of the guest’s elaborate presentation (A/V) on the various interesting
facts in Physics. This motivated and inspired the young minds to aspire to achieve.
Students of class XI presented a discourse on: “Future of STI: Impacts on Education, Skills and
Work”.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March every year. This year it was celebrated on
the theme ‘Choose To Challenge’, which indicates that a “challenged world is an alert world and
from challenge comes change.”
Students of class XI, overwhelmingly came forward to wish the teachers by presenting a creative
flower bouquet inscribing the fine qualities of women. They shared their happiness and expressed
the gratitude by distributing sweets. It was a day of recognition, joy and realization of women
empowerment.
MAHA SHIVRATRI CELEBRATION
Maha Shivratri is one of the most significant Hindu festivals that celebrate the convergence of
Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakthi, which is observed by remembering Lord Shiva and chanting
mantras, prayers and fasting.
Maha Shivratri was celebrated in our vidyalaya on 10.03.2021 by chanting Bhajans and
Lingashtakam. Special arti and prayers were offered invoking the grace and blessings of Lord
Shiva for peace, health and prosperity.
SHRI TAPOVAN JAYANTI/SRIMAD BHAGVAD GITA JAYANTHI ON 25TH DECEMBER
Shri Tapovan Maharaj is the renowned Guru of our Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayanandaji. This
ardent disciple carried out the Guru’s preaching of propagating the Gita to the masses and thus
brought the Gita from the Pooja room to the living room. Children of our Vidyalaya, were a part
of this magnificent global event by chanting Tapovan Shatakam, Bhagvad Gita – Chapters 12 & 15
and by rendering Bhagavad Gita arti at the school premises.
Our parents, teachers and students present in the event organized to mark the Gita Jayanti in
our school and they also witnessed the live streamed YouTube programme of our students. Thus it
was a Global endeavour to ‘Go with Gita and Grow with Gita’.
SHLOKA CHANTING
Rakshita of std III, performed Shloka Chanting which was aired on Sri Shankara TV on 29th
December 2020 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
DIWALI CELEBRATIONS
Diwali – the ‘Festival of lights’ was celebrated with all glory and vigour. Students of class 7
took the initiative for the celebrations. The celebration, as usual started with the invocation,
which was followed by the welcome speech and dance. A speech on ‘How to celebrate safe Diwali’
was synonymous to the present situation. A spectacular dance and the Principal’s address made
the celebration complete. After the compilation of the events, the celebration was webcasted on
12th November, 2020.
CHILDREN’S DAY
Children’s Day is celebrated across India to increase awareness of the rights, care and
education of children on 14th November every year. It’s customary that on children’s day, the
teachers entertain the children through various ways. This year, our teachers, came forward
enterprisingly to amuse the children online through songs and a puppet show. An animated version
of story by our Gurudev was also inclusive of the celebration
KARUNA CLUB INAUGURATION
The Karuna Club for the year 2020-21 was inaugurated on 24thNovember, 2020 online. Children of
classes 6 - 8 were the participants. Dr.RatanChand Sharma, Life Member, Karuna International,
Shri.PaulBhaskran, Speaker, Karuna International and Shri Rama Murugesan, Chief Educational
Officer, Karuna International graced the occasion by being the guests of honor. The highlights
of the inaugural ceremony are: Invocation, which was followed by the Karuna Prayer and the
Karuna Pledge; the Principal, Smt.Latha Ganesan, introduced the guests and welcomed the
participants; after the guest's address, the Annual Report of the Karuna Club of the year
2019-20 was unravelled. After the proposal of thanks, the ceremony found a wholesome
culmination.
BHARATHIYAR DAY CELEBRATION
The 138th birthday of the very prominent Tamil poet, SubramaniyaBharathi, popularly known as
‘MahakaviBharathi’, which is actually on 11th December 2020 was celebrated on 9th December 2020
by students of classes 9 - 11. This passionate poet, though a polyglot, has Tamil poetry as his
signature. Prof.Smt.ManimegalaiSiddharthan M.A., B.Ed., M.Phil., Ph.D. was the guest of the day.
The highlights of the online celebration were a dance, poetry recitation and a song. The chief
guest, being a Tamil professor and an enthusiast, addressed the viewers and roused their love
for the language.
VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
The Government of India, had taken the initiative to celebrate “Vigilance Awareness Week” from
27.10.2020 to 2.11.2020. The students of our Vidyalaya observed this week in various ways at
various levels on the theme: ‘Vigilant India, Prosperous India’; classes VI to VIII did poster
making; classes XI & X participated in the essay competition and classes X & XI did a PPT
presentation on ‘Ancient Kingdom in India which sustained the path of righteousness and
‘Chanakya Neeti’ respectively.
MATHRU PITHRU POOJA
The program started off well with the invocation followed by madam principals welcome address.
The procedures of the pooja begun step by step with the teachers’ guidance. To fan the fire of
love of the children for their parents. ‘Mathru Stavanam’ was sung and explained after the pooja
which was followed by Devi Krithi. This beautiful and sensational event was made complete with
the vote of thanks by a student. Few parents came forward to share their feedback about the
event which was encouraging, they thanked the management for arranging such sessions which
strengthened the roots of the Indian culture.
RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS
The birthday of the great national leader, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who is popularly known as
‘The Iron Man of India’ is celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October 2020. The day was
observed duly by the children of classes VI to VIII taking the ‘Integrity Pledge’ during the
online classes.
CCA COMPETITION – CYBER BULLYING
In an endeavour to create awareness on bullying in schools which has severe consequences in the
lives of students, which ranges from low self-esteem and depression, the ‘International Day
against violence and bullying (including Cyber Bullying) at school’ was commemorated on
05.11.2020, under the theme ‘Together against Bullying’ in school.’ Students of classes IX to XI
participated in a case study competition on Cyber Bullying.
GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATIONS
Ganesh Chaturthi, the janmadhin of the Lord, who shatters all obstacles and is a symbol of
immense knowledge, was celebrated on 21.08.2020 online. Children of std II took part in the
celebrations. Special speeches spinning around the glory and power of lord Ganesha,
storytelling, graceful dances, and bhajans made the celebration. The highlight of the
celebration was the photo show (slide show) of clay modelling done by students of class II of
Lord Ganesha. The celebration ended with the Arti.
TEACHERS' DAY CELEBRATION
"Teaching is the noblest professions of all".
Teachers' Day, was observed and celebrated by students of 9, 10 & 11 online on 5.9.2020.
Students paid their respects, devotion and love they had harboured for the teachers through way
of poetry, speeches, dance, drawing/painting, songs and the best part of the show was the online
games conducted for teachers and a skit in the vernacular, with 'the intricacies of online
teaching' as the theme by students of std X. It was overwhelming to see the students shower
their love upon the teachers.
INDEPENDENCE DAY
The 74th Independence Day was celebrated on 15.08.2020 with due procedures and glory. The
fervour of the day was very well brought out through motivational and patriotic speeches, songs
and dances. Our Principal Smt.Latha Ganesan hoisted the National Flag and addressed the viewers
GANDHI JAYANTHI
Gandhi Jayanthi of this year, 2.10.2020, was commemorated by offering Bhajan Sandhya online to
the matchless National Leader. The Bhajan Sandhya comprised of 'Vaishnava Janatho' and some Ram
Bhajans. Students from classes 3 to 8 took part in the Bhajan Sandhya.
NAVRATRI CELEBRATIONS
The Navratri Celebrations of this year, was organised by the Chinmaya Mission on a large scale,
under the label, 'NAVRATRI UTSAV' and the theme as: ‘Glorious temples of Tamilnadu and Hindu
Literature", from 17.10.2020 - 25.10.2020. On the first day, 17.10.2020, our vidyalaya was a
part of the utsav through performances of kathakalatchebam, villu paatu and virtual tour around
the Madurai Meenakshi Amman and Kanchi Kamakshi Amman temples. On all the nine days, the colour
kolam, sloka and bhajan pertaining to that day's godess Devi were done; dance and bhajan were
done on alternative days by students of std 6. Thus it was a real triumph though virtually
celebrated, of good over evil.
JANMASHTAMI
The Janmashtami celebrations took place on 11.08.2020. This program was done exclusively by the
KG kids. The celebration began with the invocation, which was followed by the welcome address by
the Principal. Speech on Lord Krishna, bhajans and two solo dances were performed by the UKG
children. The photo collage session wherein LKG children had dressed themselves up as Krishna
and Radha stole the show. It was a holistic show, culminating with the pooja arti.
GURU PURNIMA
'Guru Purnima' - the day dedicated to respect and worship 'Gurus' was celebrated on 5th July,
2020, online. The value of respecting and worshipping Gurus is imbibed into our children through
many ways and celebrating 'Guru Purinma' is one such a way. The celebration included Swami
Swaroopanandaji's message; Swami Abhedanandaji's talk on Gurupurnima; guru bhajans, speech on
guru bhakthi and Guru ashtothra namavali. The celebration was complete with the blessings of the
Guru.
27th ARADHANA DAY CELEBRATIONS
Children participated enthusiastically and chanted Gita chapter 2. The compiled version of the

ONAM CELEBRATIONS
'Thiru Onam' was celebrated online. Children of class 5 took part in the gaiety through
Malayalam songs, dance, speeches on the glory of the festival and the best highlight of the
event was the photo session, bearing the pictures of the students with the 'pookalam' made by
them. The whole program was spectacular. The compiled version of the program was webcast on
2.9.2020.
