Children's day has observed in our vidyalaya on 14th November 2019. A huge celebration with a host of co-curricular activities in the vidyalaya campus showcasing the hidden talent of our students. Gadjet free hour campaign intiated by parent circle. Drawing competition, Story telling, Oratorical, Fancy dress ramp walk, Group dance, Skit and Debate are the main events of the day. Chief guest was smt.Sulochana SIMS hospital and parents were invited as Judges.
On 28th November 2019 Vilakku Pooja was performed by the teachers in our vidyalaya premises to invoke the divine blessings of Goddess Lakshmi devi. Lalitha sahasranamam chanted in chorusly by the teachers.
Our students were blessed with a wonderful opportunity to have a live session with our Swami Swaroopanandaji, Global head Chinmaya mission. It’s a global event where 10,000 students from 57 vidyalaya participated in this ever online satsung.
Central Government of India and Sricity foundation conducted an essay competition on 27th November 2019 on the topic usage of plastic will harm to the environment, How do you prevent and suggest alternatives. Students of grade VIII, IX and X got prized and are felicitated with the prizes by the honourable chief guest Mr. R. Muthuraj, ITS Development commissioner, Sricity-Sez.
“All India Chinmaya Vidyalaya Foot Ball Championship 2019” conducted by Chinmaya international residential school at Coimbatore. Our students participated in the competition and “Kum. Krishna Shiva Priya” of class VIII won the “Best Goal Keeper” and our girls team came in a meritorious position in the tournament.
“Bharathiyar Day” was observed in our vidyalaya on 11th December 2019. Special Tamil assembly and speeches by Tamil teachers highlighted the significance of the day.
6th Annual Sports Meet “Chin’s Khelotsav 2019” was held on 31st December 2019 with great zeal and excitement. The chief guest was “Shri Soundara Raj MA, M.Phil, Bed, Principal of space central school Shriharikota. March Past, Saree Drill, Flag Drill, Rainbow Drill, Ribbon Drill, Mixed Drill, Bamboo Drill, Pyramid Drill was the main events of the day.
Our students participated in the competiton and we are happy to share our “Grade IX student Shashank Devadiga” won 4th Prize in the finals which was conducted by Chinmaya Vision.
On 27th December 2019 a career guidance session after grade X was conducted by Mr. R.Mutguraj, ITS development commissioner govt of India.
Our vidyalaya stood first in promoting karuna international club activities. “Mrs.Kumari and Mrs.Vijaya lakshmi” received the award and cash prize on behalf of our school in 22nd national conference of Karuna international at Chennai on 28th December 2019.
“9th Annual Day Chin’s Spoorthi was conducted on 8th January 2020” with the theme “Be the Change You Want to See”. Dr.K.Audisesha Reddy, former deputy director SDSC SHAR/ISRO was the chief guest. Shri Sathyamoorthy sir and Smt.Uma Kalyanam felicitated the program. Annual report, prize distribution and cultural programmes are the main events. Folk dance, Gita chanting, Drama-Bhakta Prahalatha, Group dance on the theme No-Plastic, Bhajans and Classical dance was the highlight of the programme.
“The Harvest Festival Pongal” with a different names Sankranthi, Ghughili was observed in our vidyalaya with a special assembly. The highlights of the celebration were the Traditional games of Tamil Nadu and Bullock cart ride. The significance of this festival was well transmitted to children.
“71st Republic day” was observed in our vidyalaya, began with hoisting of National Flag by our principal Smt.Bhuvaneshwari. Students gave speeches in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil which evoked our patriotism. Cultural events followed.
“National Science Day” was observed in our vidyalaya to commemorate the invention of the ‘Raman Effect’ by ‘sir Chandrashekara Venkata Raman’ on 28th February. A special assembly was conducted speeches and skit (Say No To Plastic) are the highlights of the event. An exhibition of science projects was organised to promote creative scientific thinking. Students from grade III to VIII participated and exhibited their projects.
Science teacher Ms.Ch.Swapna who is a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) of our school was selected to take part in the Edudays 2019, the Showcase Event of Microsoft in Education on 19th and 20th of November, 2019 at Westin, Gurgaon.
Ms.Ch.Swapna was a part of a 7 member team of educators from different parts of the country who showcased their project "HEAVY HEARTS TO HAPPY HEARTS" on the theme, Instilling Happiness and Self Esteem in students, and their team won the first prize.
This is a collaborative project between schools of India. The mission of this project is to boost self-esteem among young learners.
One of the many expectations of school education is to enhance student’s fundamental knowledge base. In the area of contemporary environmental issues, it is a valid expectation that the knowledge is linked with action that brings change in our life styles with minimal negative impact on our resources.
“Green Olympiad”, an annual written examination on environment initiated by the energy and resources institute (TERI) was conducted in our school on 16th October 2019. The students of grade IV to X participated in exam in different level.
Green Olympiad is an examination of environmental issues for school students which intended to test the knowledge of students and also educate and sensitise them in the process.
The medical department, from the government hospital conducted an eye camp in our school. Doctors from sathyavedu government hospital visited our school on 14th October 2019.
The eye specialist from the hospital examined all children with state of art equipment. The objective of the general eye check up was to facilitate early deficiency among the children and provide tips on caring for and protecting their eyes.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the teachers and students of the school.
As a part of spandana program where government maintain quality in solving the problems of public with more responsibly, Sricity police conducted an awareness program among students on 16th October 2019. Students of grade IV and VII visited police station and were benefited.
Madras Dyslexia association started in 1992, which has been providing remedial help and support to children with learning disabilities conducted training program for our primary teachers.
MDA has designed and developed a range of awareness and remedial training program for helping Dyslexic children.
Five teachers from primary attended the class and were very mush benefited with the knowledge and expertise of MDA in the area of identification, assessment, remediation techniques to overcome the disability problem in learning of our students.
Diwali is the festival of light which is celebrated in various regions across India. The name ‘Deepavali’ literally means an array of light. To make the students understand the importance of diwali our school had a celebration on 24th October 2019. The significance of diwali was explained, the festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, Knowledge over ignorance, good over evil and hope over despair.
School was decorated with diyas and Rangolies. Children celebrated the day colourfully with all enthusiasm. Traditional dress, dances, songs made the day a memorable one. A special pooja with lakshmi ashtotharam was held on.
School insisted the students to celebrate Diwali, without harming the environment. Green diwali concept was well explained through a skit in Hindi. Principal wished all a prosperous and safe Diwali.
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counsellors and the most palient of teacher’s - Charles W.Elio.
A child’s reading skills are important to their success in school as they will allow them to access the wreath of the curriculum and improve their communication and language skills. In addition reading can be a fun and imaginative time for children, which opens door to all kinds of new worlds for them.
Sricity Chinmaya Vidyalaya, as a part of ‘Reading Day’ 15th October 2019 in memory of our former president “Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam” awarded best Reader awards. Best Reader award of 1st term for the academic year 2019-20 won by T. Sai Keerthi of grade VI, K. Sumanasree and Shashank Devadiga of grade IX.
Spell bee (Level 1) result was announced in the assembly. The inter school toppers, school toppers, medal winners, achieved and past lacers of the inter school level were awarded in school.
The school toppers are awarded with school topper medal and certificate. Our five students came in this category. Medal winner category is awarded with medal and certificate. One of our students came under this category. Achievers who score above cut off mark are awarded with certificate of achievement. Forty four students came under this category. Principal Bhuvaneswari ma’am given away the prizes and congratulated all the students who have successfully completed first level competition.

On this special day SMSes and E-Mails have replaced into traditional post cards. Our school celebrated postal day to revive and remember the old medium of interpersonal communication. October 9 which is celebrated as world postal day, our students have send letters to VIPs and Prime minister.
Grade I to III drawn Charkha, grade IV to VI Charkha with Gandhiji and grade VII to X wrote letter to dear Bapuji. Selected letters have sent.
Letters and telegrams take us back to the nostalgic time. The day of the commemoration of the postal service is thus celebrated.
Education tours are a media where students will come through an experience of witnessing ‘in real’.
“Sandal wood city” the city of Mysore presented a host of spectacular tourist attraction that can be visited by our students of grade VII to X. It was a two days trip from 21st to 23rd September.
The temples, magnificient palaces and luxuriant gardens are the main places we have visited. Ranganatha Swami temple, Chamundeshwari temple and St. Philomina’s church are the three religious places we have visited. Mysore palace, Jaganmohan palace, and the most famous monuments we have visited on our educational trip. Historical places like GolGumbaz, TippuSulthan’stomp gave tremendous images of the era of kings in the medieval India. Brindavan gardens and Mysore zoo was a treat of beauty for the children.
Sricity chinmaya vidyalaya celebrated Navaratri on 27th Sep 2019 with all enthusiasm, great joy and reverence. “The festival of worshipping goddess Durga”, Navaratri is a Sanskrit word where Nav means Nine and Ratri means Nights. Children dressed up in chaniyacholis and performed garba with their colourful dhandiya sticks.
A special NavaratriGolu was displayed by collecting dolls from students, the dolls were tastefully arranged in 5 steps with all decoration pooja, Aarathi was arranged to invoke blessing from goddess saraswathi.
Significance of Navaratri and how it is celebrated all over India has demonstrated well through this celebration.
