Mathru puja was celebrated on 9 th , 12 th and 14 th of October in our Vidyalaya for all classes on behalf of Principal and Vice Principal. Deputy Director also took part and addressed the parents. As part of the Chinmaya Balsevak Program, our students organized a vibrant food stall at the school premises, a cherished tradition that we conduct annually. This year’s event was marked by an exceptional display of enthusiasm and dedication from both students with the kind cooperation and support of parents. The children, under the meticulous guidance of their coordinators, brought home-cooked, hygienic food presented in eco-friendly containers. Their spirited efforts to sell the food with gusto resulted in a substantial amount raised for a noble cause. The Onam celebration hosted by Class XI students, was a vibrant and culturally rich event that brought the spirit of Kerala's harvest festival to life. The program began with the creation of a beautiful Pookalam (floral rangoli), symbolizing prosperity and unity. A speech on the significance of Onam, highlighted King Mahabali’s importance, emphasizing his reign of equality, prosperity, and justice. It also emphasised its historical and cultural importance, reminding everyone of the values of harmony, gratitude, and inclusivity. This was followed by a lively mash-up of Onam songs that filled the atmosphere with joy and enthusiasm. Our School Sports Day took place on September 6th, 2024, at SDAT, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Periamet, Chennai. The event was presided by our honourable Correspondent Sri. N Nagarajan, Madam Principal Smt. Elavarasi and Madam Vice Principal Smt. Vasundhara. It was attended by students, parents, and teachers. The special chief guests for the day were Mr. Parthiban, Scientist/Engineer, flight dynamics group, UR Rao Satellite Centre, ISRO, Bangalore and Mr. Naveen. S, Power Lifting Champion, All India Inter Railways Power Lifting Champion, Junior Asian Power Lifting Champion. The Teacher’s Day Felicitation Ceremony at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Virugambakkam was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 13th September 2024. Ganesh chathurthi was celebrated in our school premises with ferver and joy on 9.9.24. Lord Ganesha was beautifully decorated with garlands and flowers. The students of classes 1 to 5 took part enthusiastically in the celebration. Ganesh bhajans were rendered by the students of class 7 and 8 followed by a moral story of Ganesha was narrated by Balvihar teacher Mrs shivashankari. Chinmun was conducted on August 8th and 9th in which 330 delegates from 15 schools enthusiastically participated. The school hosted the following 10 committees namely; UNSC, UNGA, ECOSOC, IPC, IPP, UNHRC, TNLA, ICC, CRISIS, UNCND. For the first time in the school circuit of MUN, TNLA is introduced in ChinMUN, which is the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The event was inaugurated by Mr.Sriram Vijayaraghavan and Mr.Ayush graced the award ceremony by his presence. From 27th August to 2nd September, class 8 students from our school volunteered at Chinmaya Tuition Centre in the evenings. They assisted younger students with their homework, providing valuable academic support and mentorship. This initiative allowed our students to develop essential skills such as leadership, communication, and empathy while contributing positively to the community. Janmashtami was celebrated in our school premises with joy and mirth on 27.8.24. Krishna’s cradle was beautifully decorated with garlands and flowers. The students of classes 1 to 5 took part enthusiastically in the celebration. Krishnashtakam and bhajans were rendered by the students of class 7 and 8 followed by narration of krishna’s story packed with moral values by Balvihar teacher Mrs. Shivashankari. Our Vidyalaya celebrated Independence Day with the usual patriotic fervor and special events which included the Guard of Honour, invocation, TamilthaaiVaazhthu and hoisting of the National Flag by Mrs Madhura Rajagopal. This was followed by the national pledge then by commemoratives speeches in Tamil and English. A patriotic skit of santhal Rebellion was staged and many students took part enthusiastically to remark this memorable day followed by Primary prize distribution for different categories. Guru poornima was celebrated in our vidyalaya on 22 nd July. Correspondent Sir, Principal and Vice Principal of our school took part in the celebration. Correspondent sir gave the welcome address. Padhuka Pooja was performed while chanting Chinmaya Ashtothra namavali. The students of classes 6, 7 and 8 did bhajans and performed dance with the theme based on Gurus. Smt. Co-curricular activities competition of "Making of a flower bouquet" for VI to VIII classes was conducted in July and was adjudged by Mrs.Hemavathi. The theme was Tricolour and it was held to encourage participants to explore and innovate with different techniques of paper flower making.
Co-curricular activities competition "Devotional Song" for VI to VIII classes was conducted in June and was adjudged by Mrs.Padma, who has more than 20 years of experience in music. The theme of the song was GOD KRISHNA/ GOD SHIVA / GODDESS AMBIGAI and it was held to help the participants enhance their singing abilities through practice and performance, focusing on aspects like pitch, tone, and projection.

Karuna club was inaugurated on 29th June 2024 at our school premises. The chief guest of the day, Mr.Sajjan Singh Jain , President Karuna International presided over the function and inaugurated the club. He gave a wonderful motivating speech about Karuna club activities and also highlighted the importance of following compassion and care towards animals and fellow beings. Our school celebrated National Reading day on 19.6.2024 in honour of Sri P.N.Panicker, Father of literacy movement in Kerala. In connection to this, the school organized a series of activities aimed at fostering a love for reading among students like special assembly with speeches, pledge taking to make reading a habit, storytelling session by Mrs.Srividya Veeraraghavan, quiz on storytelling session winners, bookmark designing competition, activity corner with thoughts on reading etc. The activities were well-received by students and teachers alike, creating a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated the joy of reading. Commemorating World Earth Day the students enthusiastically brought saplings and planted them in the school campus. They showed great interest and exuberance in celebrating World Earth day and realized the need to conserve our invaluable natural resource. On the occasion of Earth Day, an onstage programme was organized by the students of class 9, 10 and 12. Maitreyi, a Class 12 student, spoke about the vital need for conservation and fostering peace and harmony among all beings. Ananya, a student from Class IX, penned a song that underscored the urgency of conserving our planet, preserving resources, ending conflicts, and embracing unity. Lord Ganesha, also known as Vighneswara, is considered to be the God of wisdom and the Remover of Obstacles. Well begun is half done. Therefore any good beginning is done with a prayer to Lord Ganesha. To invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, a Ganapathi Homam was performed in the school auditorium on 5th April 2024.
The chanting of mantras created a divine atmosphere. Prasadam was distributed to all.
