Science Day was celebrated on 1st March 2024 at Chinmaya Kalaiarangam. Mrs.Vijaya Devanathan, Principal, Chinmaya Vidyalaya Taylors Road graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Children enthusiastically presented many projects and models which were well appreciated inspiring them to achieve more in future.

Eighty eight Students of class 7 along with 7 teachers, embarked on an enriching journey to
Thanjavur, known for its rich cultural heritage and historical significance. Students visited Gangaikonda Cholapuram, Brihadeeswara Temple in Thanjavur and later visited Airavateswara Temple in Darasuram an architectural marvel of Chola Dynasty. The intricate carvings
and architectural splendor of the temple fascinated our students. Also on the itenary was Saraswathi Mahal Library, one of the oldest libraries in Asia,
housing a vast collection of ancient manuscripts and rare literary treasures. The visit to the
library offered our students a unique opportunity to delve into the rich literary heritage of India
and gain insights into its intellectual legacy.
The tour concluded with a visit to Swamimalai, a sacred pilgrimage site
known for its significance in Hindu mythology. The serene ambience and spiritual atmosphere of
Swamimalai provided our students with a tranquil retreat, allowing them to reflect on the cultural
and spiritual dimensions of our heritage.

Children's Day at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School, Virugambakkam,Kindergarten department, children gleefully watched as their parents
transformed the stage into a magical realm. The day was filled with enchanting
performances—a symphony of singing, a dance drama teaching the importance of
good food and the drawbacks of excessive cell phone use. Parents, adorned as
clowns and puppets, brought laughter and joy, creating a memorable fusion of
entertainment and education.

Children's Day at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Sr. Sec. School, Virugambakkam, was celebrated with
a touch of creativity and uniqueness that left a lasting impression on both students and teachers.
For the primary classes, the school embraced a 'No Bag, No Book Day,' allowing the children to dive into a day filled
with engaging and innovative activities. Children's Day, coincided with the day after Diwali,
amplifying the festive spirit. Students added an extra dash of joy by donning their vibrant
Diwali outfits.
Teachers meticulously planned a plethora of hands-on activities and games that not only
provided enjoyment but also served as a platform for honing and showcasing the students'
talents. The enthusiasm of the students was palpable as they actively participated in a wide
array of entertaining and instructive educational activities. Charades, hangman, roleplays,
monoacting, and traditional games of Tamilnadu were just a few highlights of the day.

"Mathru Dinam" refers to Mother's Day in the Indian state of Kerala. "Mathru Dinam Pooja"
translates to Mother's Day Celebration. This day is dedicated to honoring and expressing
gratitude to mothers for their love, sacrifices, and contributions to the family and society. It is a
day to express love and appreciation for mothers, and many people celebrate it by performing
special prayers, and rituals, and offering flowers to their mothers.
The special ‘guests’ no other than the proud mothers and their children assembled in the
auditorium and joyfully celebrated Mathru Dina. Traditional dance by the students, accompanied
by the chanting of the mathru dina pooja slokas filled the air with a very traditional feel.The
students performed the pooja with great reverence and got the blessings of their mothers.Mrs
Vijayalakshmi,the Principal of the Vidyalaya,Mrs Elavarasi,the Vice-Principal and teachers were
also present on the occasion. Mathrudinam for the primary and middle school were also performed on the 25 th and
26 th of October respectively.

To foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural expressions
through visits to culturally significant places educational tours are arranged in the school.
Students of Class X went on an educational trip to Karnataka from October 7th to 11th, 2023,
to learn about its rich culture and history. During the trip, children visited Mysore Palace, Chamundi Hills, Belur, Halebid, Shravanabelagola and Srirangapatna.

Adi Shankara day was celebrated on 5.10.23 Thursday in our school premises conducted by Sri vidyatheerta foundation. On this occasion students of classes 8,9,11 participated. The event had a seminar on Adishankara’s life history and his contribution towards spiritual and nation development. Tenkasi Mr. Ganesan, chair person of Sri Vidyatheertha foundation, was the guest speaker of this seminar. Mrs. Hema, member of Sri Vidyatheertha foundation was the coordinator of this event. Mr.Bharani, parent of Balasubramainyan of class XB, organised the event. The seminar concluded with shanti mantra. Followed by the seminar students of classes 8,9 & 11 participated in an online quiz based on the Adi Shankara life history on 6.10.23 Friday in our school senior computer lab.

Grand parents are the most important people in our lives. They love their Grand children unconditionally and show them the magic of the world. They guide the children to carry the legacy of the family,culture and tradition. Hence Grand parents are always revered the most.
The event started with an invocation song and welcome address by UKG kids. To entertain them, children gave a dance performance. Fun games for grand fathers and grand mothers were organized, where in they enthusiastically participated forgetting their age.
Grand parents took photos with their grand children in a selfie corner made specially for them. Palm print of both grand parents and kid was printed on a paper as a memory.

Students of the vidyalaya took up Swachh Bharat Seva on 1 Oct 2023 in Uthandi, Chennai. Class 9 Students of the Vidyalaya got a wonderful opportunity to be part of this Campaign. They presented a street play on garbage-free India and they later cleaned the Uthandi beach enthusiastically by collecting the garbage on the beach. Governor of Tamilnadu Shri.R.N.Ravi witnessed the play and appreciated the students. He also joined them in their cleaning shramdaan. Students of class 9 also cleared the garbage in the school surroundings and a temple nearby with the help of teachers. Students in primary made charts about the importance of cleanliness and segregation of garbage. Students in classes 6 to 8 wrote slogans, poems and displayed them on their bulletin boards.

Vinayaka Chaturthi was celebrated on 15 Sep 2023. Pooja was performed to the diety on the campus with devotion. Ganesh chathurthi was celebrated with students taking Ganesha in a procession in the school where all the students enjoyed and welcomed Ganesha. Students made Ganesha idol with clay, leaves, drawings etc., did puja with flowers and prayed with devotion and happiness.

The new academic year began on an auspicious note with the arrival of Gurudev’s
padukas.
Gurudev and his padukas were reverently received at Chinmaya Heritage Centre and
brought to Harihara Temple in Chinmaya Nagar.
Students chanted the Gurudev Ashtottarashata Namavali and puja was performed with the
propitious reverberations of the chenda melam. Students performed the paduka puja and sang bhajans.

Lord Ganesha, also known as Vighneswara, is considered to be the God of wisdom and the Remover of Obstacles. Well begun is half done. Therefore any good beginning is done with a prayer to Lord Ganesha. To invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, a Ganapathi Homam was performed in the school auditorium on 10th April 2023
.The students of classes 10 & 12, teaching and non teaching staff attended the pooja. The chanting of mantras created a divine atmosphere. Prasadam was distributed to all.
