VIDYA of Computer Science department was conferred with the Best Teacher Award by West Chennai Sahodaya Cluster Schools for her brilliant and dedicated effort in kindling the minds of students to widen their horizon, to inflame their intellect and to strive towards excellence LIONS CLUB of Chennai Golden Stars honoured Mrs. Vasundhara MA.B.Ed., in recognition of meritorious services in producing citizens for the cause of nation building and its success on Thursday, 29th September 2016. Smt.Premalatha of Maths Dept has been selected as Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert for the Year 2016-17.     Smt.Vidya M and Smt.Geetha Venkataraman were honoured with the “Best Teacher Award” and Smt.Vijayanandini received the award for 100% attendance for the year 2015-16. Mrs. HemalathaKathiravan of the Social Science Department was selected as a member of the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert program for 2015-16 from over 100 countries around the globe. Mrs.C.Elavarasi – Vice Principal received the Best Teacher Award by the West Cluster Chennai Sahodaya Schools in a function held on 11th September 2015. Lions Club of Valasaravakkam conferred the Best Teacher Award to Mrs.Usha Govindarajan our Craft Teacher on 9th September 2015. Dr.P.Rangarajan-Sanskrit teacher has been selected for the "National Award to Teachers" for the year 2014 for his valuable contribution in the field of education by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The award ceremony was held at New Delhi on 5th September 2015. Mrs.Narmadha – Social Science department and Mrs.Bharathi A – Maths department were selected by the British Council and participated in the Masters Teachers Training Programme held in Mumbai. The topic of the workshop was "Teaching divided history" - using technology to enhance independent learning and Planning for Problem solving - A challenge for Mathematics teachers. Our Yoga Master Dr.R.Venugopal has received the title "Yoga Adhyashaka" from the Superintendent of Police, Kancheepuram.   Smt.Lakshmi L and Smt.Amudharani were honoured with the “Best Teacher Award” for the year 2015-16. The Global Teachers Accreditation 2015 have been awarded to Ms.Geetha Venkatraman (Maths), Ms.A.Hemaji (English), Ms.Bharathi A (Maths) and Ms.Shreelata Vedula (Computer Science) by the British Council. Mrs.Bharathi has been awarded with Commendation for her project. The teachers worked on Action Research projects based on the guidelines given by the British Council. They received the award in a function held in Delhi on 9 July 2015. Mrs.S.Rejini SGT-Mathematics underwent a pilot study programme organized by the British Council on 16th & 17th April 2015 on “Critical Thinking & Problem Solving”, after her application was shortlisted among the 40 out of the 600 applicants all over India. Mrs.N.Meera from Computer Science department has published a book on Information Technology Cambridge University Press has released this book titled “Click Start” for classes IX & X recently. Principal Mrs.P.Vijayalakshmi and Mrs.K.Hemalatha Social Science teacher took up Action Research Project with the British Council on the topic “Digital Innovations in Class Rooms” and have been awarded the Global Teacher Accreditation for the year 2014. They have received the Award in Delhi on 2nd December 2014. Mrs.P.Vijayalakshmi has been selected to present her case study at the Conference.   Smt.Jayashree Srinivasan and Smt.Aparna were honoured with the “Best Teacher Award” and Smt.Rachana Narayanan received the award for 100% attendance for the year 2014-15. Lions Club of Valasaravakkam conferred the Best Teacher Award to Mrs.Lalitha Kannan our Music Teacher on 12th September 2014. Mrs.Vijayanandhini – Dance teacher received the Best Teacher Award by the West Cluster Chennai Sahodaya Schools in a function held on 10th September 2014. Mrs.Uma Sankaranarayanan our English teacher received the Global Teacher Accreditation award of the British Council. She received the award in a glittering function held at Kolkata in the month of November. This is an institution based research project. Mrs.Uma submitted her thesis on improving reading habits among students of class VIII which was evaluated by the members of Cambridge University. Mrs. Srividya Anantharaman Value Education Teacher was awarded the Best Teacher Award on 3rd September conferred on her by the West Chennai Sahodaya Cluster Schools. It is a prestigious award given to the outstanding teacher of the region. Mrs.KalpanaSampath K.G. Teacher was awarded the Best Teacher Award by the Rotary club.   Our school encourages teachers in a big way. Smt. Geeta Srinivasan and Smt. Rejini were honoured with the “Best Teacher Award” for the year 2013-14.
