MICROSOFT INNOVATIVE EDUCATORS EXPERT (MIEE)

Microsoft's Innovative Educator - Expert (MIE Expert) is an opportunity that celebrates educators across the world who use technology to transform education. Each year, renowned MIE Experts are selected to be part of this exclusive global community of visionary leaders who are paving the way for their peers in the effective use of technology for better learning and student outcomes. MIE Experts work closely with Microsoft to share their experiences with peers and policy makers on effective use of technology in education. They drive affinity towards Microsoft’s value proposition and drive awareness and usage of Microsoft’s products, tools and software and provide insight for Microsoft on new products and tools in education. They share valuable best practices, and work together as a community to promote ideas to innovate in teaching and learning. Mrs. HemalathaKathiravan of the Social Science Department was selected as a member of the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert program for 2015-16 from over 100 countries around the globe. As a part of this program, she was invited to attend a 3 day meet at New Delhi from Nov 2nd-4th on professional development. The first two days were packed with enriching sessions on Window 10, Office 365, Outlook, Office mix, types of devices in education, online influence & yammer, skype sessions etc. On Day 3, Mr. Anthony Salcito, Vice President- Education, Worldwide Public Sector, Microsoft Corporation, interacted with the audience. Some MIE Experts will also be eligible for an opportunity to earn an all-expense paid trip to the Microsoft in Education Global Forum in Redmond, Washington.
