Inter School Competitions
The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others. No one has yet realized the wealth of sympathy, kindness and generosity hidden in the soul of a child. The effort of every true education should be to unlock that treasure. With this thought, the Karuna Club of our school organised Inter-School Competitions on 01.08.14, Friday (Forenoon) in the school premises. Our Principal Mrs. P.Vijayalakshmi welcomed the chief guest, Shri. Prakash Gulecha, memberof Karuna International who very graciously accepted to preside over the function and address the children. The programme began with the Karuna prayer which was followed by the Karuna pledge. Shri. Prakash Gulecha made the children understand the importance of following a Karuna way of life. Students from 23 schools from all over Chennai enthusiastically participated in the various competitions. The competitions that were conducted were singing, dancing, drawing and colouring, poster making, essay writing, poem writing, rangoli, quiz for juniors and seniors and also a movie making competition. The topics were various topics were based on the various Karuna values such as compassion, nature, world peace, universal brotherhood, beauty without cruelty, underwater life, biodiversity, conserving environment etc The valedictory function was presided by our Principal Mrs. P.Vijayalaksmi and our Vice-Principal Mrs. Elavarasi. They gave away prizes to the winners. Mrs. Vasundhara Nahar, Karuna Club coordinator rendered the vote of thanks. The programme ended with the concluding prayer sung by the Chinmaya Vidyalaya students.
