Connecting classrooms is a global education programme for schools, managed by the British Council for schools offering school partnerships to share the best practices with their International counterparts. Chinmaya Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School Virugambakkam and Selly Park Technology College for Girls Birmingham have entered into one such collaborative project creating meaningful cross-cultural relationships between the two schools. Mrs. Lisa Darwood, Ms. Sam Crayton and Mrs. Divya Nambiar from Selly Park had visited Chinmaya Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School in April 2014. The children of Chinmaya Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School presented the foreign visitors with a cultural show showcasing the different aspects of our Indian tradition, like yoga, Bharata Natyam and Carnatic music. Children also presented the guests with collages on Indian heritage,posters on their perceptions of United Kingdom and made origami peace doves with messages of peace to their counterparts at Selly Park Technology Centre , Birmingham. The guests also observed English and Science classes at Chinmaya Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School. | ||||
