An Orientation programme on Formative Assessments in Sanskrit
An orientation programme on the CBSE’s CCE – Formative Assessments in Sanskrit was organized by Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam, Chennai -92 on 8th February 2014. Hony. Correspondent of the Vidyalaya Shri.N.Nagarajan inaugurated the programme. Smt.P.Vijayalakshmi, Principal of the Vidyalaya, Mentor and Monitor of the CCE, briefed about the importance of Assessments need of the hour. She also insisted upon the activities which should be oriented on the development of the language skills among the students. She appraised the purpose of the programme aiming at the ultimate vision of the future. Dr.P.Rangarajan Head of the Dept. Sanskrit at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam presented his assessments plan in Sanskrit such as PRABHODANAM, MOOKABHASHANAM, PRAATA KAALEENA SABHA, SAMBHASHANAM, PARIVESHA PARICHJAYAH, SVA PARICHAYAH, NAATAKAM, DOORDARSHANA LAHARI, ETC., with Rubrics for assessing the activities. Sri.R.Ranganathan of Taylors Road Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Taylors Road assessed about the various language games in Sanskrit. After lunch, Dr.Sri.R.Ramachandran of Samskrita Bharati elucidated the importance of teaching Sanskrit in Sanskrit Language itself and threw some light on the Assessment skills, how to make the children to participate enthusiastically in the activities. During this occasion the Sanskrit Department of the Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam inaugurated its own website dedicated by the X-std. Sanskrit students. The programme concluded with vote of thanks.
